I Love Food!
You may not be like me. I love food!
I wish I could say that I have made eating well a life-long pursuit. I ate mostly well, but I ate too much. However, I am trying to eat better. I found a system to lose weight which is made up of primarily eating a better balance of food types and volume control and walking more. What a novel idea!
Since I want you to develop a good mindset for money, I cannot avoid mentioning the importance of you eating well, to stay well.
Food Is Important
Not everyone can afford to eat well, or even eat regularly. One of your first financial goals should be to get to where you can afford to eat well.
For this discussion, I should note this is a reference to your income, not moving to where lots of vegetables are grown!
Eat for Health
Once you have increased your income to afford to eat well, I suggest that you try to eat the right foods. Eating certain foods, usually low-fat, low-sugar, and non-processed foods, will help you to maintain good health.
You are so much more productive when you are healthy. And, not just because of good health, but our attitudes are better each day that we can get up not feeling pain and other discomforts.
If you live long enough, you will see the effects that smoking and drinking alcohol can have on your general health like breathing problems, skin conditions, and digestion.
I have been strong, and I have been weak. I like strong better!
Go Well
I hope you will always be able to go well. Eating well will help you go well.
With all the commercials about digestive issues, you should do all you can to avoid them. They can slow you down.
I am just being honest. It will be worth your time to study your digestive system and how to keep it well.
Be a Strong Example
In my youth, a long time ago, The Jack Lalanne Show was a big hit. I believe he was on in the morning. He was into good health and fitness. And, I learned later, he was not a normal weightlifter. Jack worked on endurance. He worked so hard on endurance that he did several well-publicized feats to show off his endurance, in his 60s and 70s, like towing boats while swimming in the ocean, etc.
He ate a lot of salads and he worked on his endurance every day! He did 1,000 pushups in a short period of time while on TV. He was confident! Surely you have been working on your endurance. Can you do five pushups? That’s a start.
We used to laugh when he did his face and neck exercises. You can see some of those shows on YouTube, now. You may laugh, too, but I bet you will be like me and wish you were in the same good health he was in.
Whatever you do, be a strong example to yourself and to your family. Long live good health!
Good Health Can Lead to Wealth
Wealth takes time to accumulate. Time, patience, hard work, and a good attitude will be essential elements to accumulate wealth.
We all have the same amount of time. However, patience, hard work, and a good attitude depend a lot on our good health.
Can you see where I am heading with this argument?
A Solid Foundation
When I say that I want you to develop a good mindset for money, I truly hope you will find ways to legally earn an income that will allow you to cover your basic needs (including eating well) and be able to set money aside for savings.
Savings, of course, will help to fund emergencies, future investments, and, possibly, help you prepare for many other opportunities.
Yes. I do want you to attempt to accumulate assets to the point that you might consider yourself wealthy or, at least, financially independent. However, wealth carries responsibility to the community, the country, or the world that made that accumulation possible.
Not everyone is blessed. Not everyone has good health. Not everyone can afford medical attention. Not everyone has had the opportunity to get the income that allowed you to accumulate wealth. Does that make you better than them?
I think not. Count your blessings. “But for the grace of God, there go I.”
I need not make a list of things that could change your life, good or bad. I need only to remind you to be thankful when things do go your way.
Get Started
I wish you well on your journey. Eat well. Exercise well. Sleep well. And you will wake up refreshed. You will feel like singing and the world will reflect your attitude!
