Strength for Character

Endure to the end!

Who Needs Exercise?

Everyone.

I know that it seems a stretch for me to claim good health will help you have a better mindset for money.  However, I can offer examples of poor health reducing the time you have, that is, the time you are willing to spend to work on tasks at home or at work.

That translates to not being effective managing your time or your money.

How Does It Help?

Exercise becomes effective when it is done consistently.  Consistency is the habit of self-discipline.  You make the time available, and you make yourself get up and at it, whether you want to or not!

Have you ever been at work or have a project at home where self-discipline would make a big difference?  Painting the bedroom comes to my mind.  I have done it, but only because it had to be done!  Who wants to move furniture?

The goals for exercise might be to build endurance, strength, and/or agility.

Give Yourself a Reason

I used to play baseball or softball.  I liked to hit.  So, when I worked out, I would work on my arm strength and do some sprints during a long walk, so I could run to first base faster!

So, think of the muscle groups that you use doing your favorite hobbies or, even, at work.  I need leg endurance to carry the tackle box and cooler down to the boat dock!

Who Can You Be?

Remember those goals you set for yourself?  Would any of those be easier to reach if you were stronger, more energetic, or had more endurance?

I have no doubt that a strong mind needs a strong body!

Proceed with caution and under good coaching.  Learn how to lift weights (bend your knees), how to stretch your muscles before stressing them with fast starts, or starting light before going heavy, such as weights, push-ups, sit-ups, etc.

Most of us only think of ourselves with our present limits.  However, exercise will extend those limits.  I found that after marching with a rifle and back pack during my military basic training, over eight weeks, I was able to do one-armed push-ups, with either arm!  That even impressed me!

Self-Confidence

Self-confidence will come with an accumulation of little victories.  However, make those little victories facing your personal fears and weaknesses, not boxing with your neighbor!

Self-Discipline

I consider self-discipline to be the biggest benefit from making yourself exercise.  The practice of making yourself try will extend into other areas of your life.

It becomes a part of your character, what you are known for.  This is a trait of leaders!

Self-Education

Self-education is a process by which you gain the knowledge needed to succeed in your life, your career, and your mindset for money!

It will take self-confidence to know you will find what you need to know.  And it will take self-discipline to make the time to do reading and study your options to do what you need to do.

This Is a Long Game

You will never establish your mindset for money in a day

This will take most of your life to fully develop.  You can build some basic knowledge quickly.  Then, the refinement, the sharpening of skills will take some discipline and being honest with yourself about what goes right or wrong.

You Will Stand Out

If you try and if you are willing to read and ask questions, you will stand out.

Not everyone will make the effort, sad to say.  Why?  Because it sounds too much like work!

Make the effort.  Learn self-discipline.

Establish Your Process to be Strong

You have heard the phrase, “strength of character”.  Character, in this case, is a good thing.  Being known as a “character” sometimes just means you try to be funny.  However, that does not often translate to helping your mindset for money.

There are a lot of other factors for building good character, but establishing a process to build your physical strength, your self-discipline, and your self-confidence will help you accept yourself as having good character, not just being a character!
