Did You Learn to Teach Yourself?

Teach yourself.

“I Know All I Need to Know”

We learn a lot in high school, and it is taxing on many of us to pass all those tests!

There are a great many of those who finish reluctantly or drop out of high school.  They assert, “I have learned enough!”  They live their lives with that attitude, that mindset.  That is too bad.  They could have a much better life if they can get over themselves!

I went to college.  I found there was a LOT more to learn.  And, yes, the tests were difficult.  However, a degree is based on passing, not your grade point average.

I was called to the military and found more things to know.

Much later, I got my MBA, master’s degree in business administration.  I had a professor who made a humbling comment about our coming degree prestige.  He said, “Don’t ever think you know it all.  You do NOT!  What you will learn is that you have more tools to learn what you need to know!”

Learn What You Need to Know

After I retired, I had to train my replacement.  Then, when he retired, three years later, and, since he did not want to, I was called on to train his replacement what she would need to know to do the job.  I did not complain because they paid me very well!

Retirement has been great, thanks to the fact that I learned better ways to manage my finances.  And, I had to work three years past my retirement age to be able to build up reasonable retirement funds, while drawing my Social Security.  You have no limits on earnings after you reach retirement age.  FYI.

Your Goals and Dreams Depend on What You Know

All my working life, as an accountant, I secretly wanted to be a writer.

I collected ideas.  However, I failed to learn to hone the craft.  Though I have started this blog, I have spent the last four years trying to learn how to make an income as a writer.  I have studied copywriting, internet opportunities, and blogging, specifically.

My dreams and goals for becoming a writer will depend on how well I have approached my learning experience.

So far, I have invested hundreds of hours to get better at this craft and platform.  Only time will tell if I learned enough.  With technology the way it is, there will always be more to learn.

Please work on your mindset to be a continuous learner.  Always be young in your efforts, it will extend your mental and financial future!

“There Is No Excuse Not to Know”

If you get a chance to listen to any recordings by Jim Rhone, you should make the time to listen, really listen to his subtle logic.  He notes, “There is no excuse not to know.”  With the internet, the library, and many other sources for self-education, you have only yourself to blame if you do not know all you need to know.

He encourages you to make the effort to learn.  The more you know of the way things work, like business, investing, and other things related to your income potential, the better your life will go.

The more you know, the more an employer or customer will value you.  The greater your perceived value is the greater your income will be!

Has This Sunk In?

Do you get my point?

I want you to build a better mindset for money.  However, you are the key to that becoming a reality.

It will be your effort, your time, your focus, your courage, your sacrifice of personal free time, and your family support.

I added the last point as a helpful hint.  However, you may find that point is a hard sell to those who would never make that effort themselves.

You CAN do this.  Learn for yourself!
